One of our current assignments for college is to create and design an album package for an artist of our choosing. I chose ‘Big Scary,’ & their album ‘The Big Scary Four Seasons.’
Raw.
There’s nothing more brutal than the rawness of the truth. It’s cold, hard & unpleasant to take in. But it can’t be avoided forever; it’s inevitable. We hear about people that have heard & are first-hand witness to real need, but we either deflect the acknowledgement or ignore it completely, convincing ourselves that people survive just fine everywhere else in the world. Ignorance is bliss to very many.. unfortunately. Some are offended by people who have witnessed unspeakable things. But how could you avoid being blunt & brutal when they’ve seen the desperate need beneath our feet? Offense is something that is again, inevitable, but at the price of them knowing - it’s worth it. We know the statistics, we’ve seen the Compassion & World Vision commercials - we know the need. But only few are called to partake in the mission to serve in this ongoing battle.
Not everyone would love to hear that 1 in 3 women have been raped in Africa. Or there are children in Uganda, abducted from the age of 5 by the rebels, & forced to kill their families, serving the rest of their childhood as a child soldier. Who would want to hear that there are 2-3 million women in India who have been sold into sex slavery & trafficking? Or that some men in the middle east throw acid at their wives faces when they ‘disobey’?
It takes a strong-willed soul to fight a war such as this. God’s already gathered many. And with this knowledge, I couldn’t imagine a life not serving this cause.
Blessings of creation.

flapjacksblog2 asked: What is your favorite Cartoon Network show?
Even though it was mildly scary… I enjoyed watching Courage the Cowardly Dog :)
